Samurai Madness
More games to play
Samurai Madness is a top-down action game about one samurai carving through room after room of enemies on a revenge mission against a syndicate. You draw the line he moves and cuts along, so combat is more about planning a stroke than mashing keys. It is free in the browser with nothing to install, which means it also works unblocked at school or work where browser games are allowed.
What you do in Samurai Madness
This is a roguelite at heart. You clear enemies one room at a time, and getting through every room leads to a boss. The catch is permadeath: one hit too many and you are back at the start. Skills you pick up along a run are what push the next attempt further.
Slashing by drawing a line
There is really one control to learn. You hold and drag to trace the path your samurai takes, then let go to send him slashing along it.
| Action | Input |
|---|---|
| Draw the move and attack path | Hold and drag left mouse button |
| Touch screens | Hold and drag a finger |
| Launch the slash | Release |

Rooms, skills, and the boss
Progress runs through a string of rooms, each a fresh fight you have to win to move on. The end of the line is a boss, and beating it opens new encounters.
| Part | What it means |
|---|---|
| Rooms | Beaten one by one to advance |
| Skills | Earned mid-run for an edge |
| Boss | Comes after the last room |
| Death | Sends you back to the start |
Tips to last longer
A little planning goes a long way here.
- Trace your line through clusters so one slash hits several enemies.
- End each stroke somewhere the survivors cannot reach you.
- Glance over a room before you draw anything.
- Grab skills when offered; they carry a run past its sticking points.
